Here is a little shop tip regarding keeping you chisels sharp. I know you already have a strop board, which is of course a piece of good smooth leather mounted on a flat board and charged with some jewlers green rouge. Well the tip is to also occasionally add some ‘Semichrome’ polish to the leather as well. Keep the strop board handy on the bench as you are working on a stock and if you every once in awhile give the chisel a few passes over the strop as you are working, you will keep the edge sharp and clean.
